Round 8 in Liga Ouro means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in where host Blumenau (6-7) beat league's leader Botafogo F.R. (11-3) 98-86 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Botafogo F.R.. Blumenau made 31-of-36 free shots (86.1 percent) during the game.
