Regular Season Round 9: Rockingham F. - Willetton T. 68-84

Everything went according to plan in Rockingham where fourth ranked Tigers (7-2) beat 12th ranked Flames (2-6) 84-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Tigers. Flames was better in second period 27-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Flames 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and guard Damien Scott (190-92) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Donovon Jack (206-93, college: Penn St.) with 26 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Vincent Zollo (206-92, college: Cleveland St.) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tigers moved-up to third place in League. Loser Flames keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Tigers will face Cougars (#5) in Hamilton Hill in the next round. Flames will play at home against Giants (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
