Regular Season Round 21: Culiacan - Los Mochis 72-74

A very interesting game took place in Culiacan. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (6-14) to eighth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (8-12) 74-72 on Saturday evening. Pioneros Los Mochis forced 21 Caballeros de Culiacan turnovers and had a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Cameron Forte (201-93, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jeff Early (190-88, college: S.Illinois) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) added 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Caballeros de Culiacan. Pioneros Los Mochis moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Navolato. Caballeros de Culiacan at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis' next round opponent will be higher ranked Frayles de Guasave (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Garra Canera de Navolato (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
