The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Akita Happinets' (17-39) home loss to fourth ranked Hokkaido L. (22-34) 85-90 on Saturday. Akita Happinets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) scored 14 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian center Scott Morrison (213-86, college: Portland St.) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hokkaido L. maintains fourth position with 22-34 record. Akita Happinets lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 39 games lost. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round. Akita Happinets will play again at home against Hokkaido L. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
