Regular Season Round 9: Sydney Comets - Hills H. 93-69

Rather predictable result in Alexandria where second ranked Sydney City Comets (7-1) smashed 5th ranked Hills Hornets (4-5) 93-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sydney City Comets. Hills Hornets was better in second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sydney City Comets forced 24 Hills Hornets turnovers. Hills Hornets were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized American guard Indiana Faithfull (193-91, college: W.Liberty St.) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Louis Brandt chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Sydney City Comets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Greek swingman Emils Duselis (192) with 18 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (198-89, college: Metro St.) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Sydney City Comets keep a position of League leader. Loser Hills Hornets dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. Sydney City Comets will face Sutherland Sharks (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hills Hornets will play against Hawks (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
