An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kumamoto. Third ranked Kumamoto V. faced second-ranked Dragonflies. Host Kumamoto V. (43-14) defeated guests from Hiroshima (43-14) 84-74. It was a great evening for American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) helped adding 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Guard Seiji Ikaruga (185-94) responded with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) scored 18 points. Dragonflies' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kumamoto V. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Kumamoto V. will again meet at home Dragonflies (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dragonflies will have a break next round.
