No shocking result in a game in Kalgoorlie where seventh ranked Stirling S. (4-3) edged 13th ranked Giants (1-6) 82-79 on Saturday. Stirling S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Power forward Ashley Litterick (202) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Rhys Vague (204-96) chipped in 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward JB Pillard (201, college: Cent.Washington) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import power forward Jacob Holmen (202-91, college: N.Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Stirling S. maintains seventh place in League with 4-3 record. Loser Giants keep the thirteenth position with six games lost. Stirling S. will face higher ranked Wanneroo (#4) in Joondalup in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giants will play on the road against Cougars (#5) in Hamilton Hill and hope to win that game.
