No shocking result in a game in Mill Park where first ranked Knox Raiders (8-1) outleveled 9th ranked Whittlesea City (1-6) 118-72 on Saturday. Knox Raiders dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Whittlesea City's 44. Knox Raiders forced 21 Whittlesea City turnovers. Naturalized British guard Adam Thoseby (196-91, college: Georgia SW, agency: Three Eye Sports) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) for the winners and center Matt Hodgson (211-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. Five Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Jonathan Maybank with 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Dominic Bruno scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Knox Raiders maintains first place in League with 8-1 record. Loser Whittlesea City dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Knox Raiders will face Eltham Wildcats (#4) on the road in the next round. Whittlesea City will play against the league's second-placed Ringwood Hawks (#2) in Heathmont and hope to win that game.
