Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Spiders (6-2). They were edged by eighth ranked Hawks (3-4) 119-116 on Saturday night. Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Spiders helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Keelan Ward stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Scott Hunter chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. Hawks' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Kulvir Grewal with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and Noah Cleur scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sydney Comets. Spiders will play next round against Crusaders trying to make it back to the top of the standings.
