Everything went according to plan when second ranked Maitland Mustangs (7-1) beat on the road 11th ranked Sutherland Sharks (1-7) 68-55 on Saturday. Sutherland Sharks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Tyler Monroe (201, college: Azusa Pacific) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Terrell Turner chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Maitland Mustangs' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American swingman Josh Biber (196-91, college: Brown) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Bailey Musulin scored 7 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Maitland Mustangs maintains second place in League with 7-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Sydney Comets.
