Everything went according to plan when second ranked Maitland Mustangs (7-1) beat on the road 11th ranked Sutherland Sharks (1-7) 68-55 on Saturday. Sutherland Sharks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Tyler Monroe (201, college: Azusa Pacific) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Terrell Turner chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Maitland Mustangs' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American swingman Josh Biber (196-91, college: Brown) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Bailey Musulin scored 7 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Maitland Mustangs maintains second place in League with 7-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Sydney Comets. Loser Sutherland Sharks keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Maitland Mustangs will face Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (#5) in Narrabeen in the next round.
