Very expected game when 16th ranked Sevilla (8-21) was defeated at home by fifth ranked FC Barcelona (20-9) 89-72 on Saturday. The game without a history. FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Swedish Marcus Eriksson (201-93) fired 18 points for the winners. Cypriot-Bulgarian Alexander Vezenkov (206-95) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Trent Lockett (196-90, college: Marquette) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five FC Barcelona and four Sevilla players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FC Barcelona moved-up to fourth place. Sevilla lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. FC Barcelona will face Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#11) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sevilla will play on the road against Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
