Second Stage Round 14: Residence - Racing 75-63

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Racing (27-4) in Bereldange on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Residence (16-15) 75-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Racing. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The former international forward Oliver Vujakovic (192-96) scored 26 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Kevin Moura (182-94) chipped in 28 points during the contest. American forward Mark Ogden (206-94, college: Dixie St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) scored 15 points. Racing's coach Pit Rodenbourg rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Residence maintains second position with 16-15 record having six points less than leader Racing. Newly promoted Racing still keeps top place with four games lost. Residence are looking forward to face Arantia (#3) in Larochette in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Racing will play at home against the league's second-placed Heffingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
