Regular Season Round 60: Aomori Watts - Yamagata 69-54

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Aomori Watts and 5th ranked Yamagata had identical 26-31 record. This time Aomori Watts used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Yamagata 69-54 on Sunday night. It was a good game for American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Yuichi Ishikawa (173-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and American swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aomori Watts have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Tokyo Z. Yamagata lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 32 games lost. Aomori Watts will face Fukushima (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Yamagata will play against the league's leader Gunma and hope to win that game.
