Regular Season Round 9: Willetton T. - SW Slammers 77-73

Very predictable result in Willetton where fourth ranked Tigers (7-2) defeated 11th ranked Slammers (2-4) 77-73 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Slammers trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 32-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-77 at the end of the game. American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Tigers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American-Irish forward Brian Voelkel (198-92, college: Vermont, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and American guard Tre Nichols (180-89, college: Boise St., agency: SDJ Sports) scored 22 points.
