Very predictable result in East Burwood where leader Spectres (6-0) defeated 6th ranked Dandenong Rangers (1-2) 93-82 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-82. Spectres made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Dandenong Rangers' players. Power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and Thomas Wright chipped in 22 points and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Lucas Barker (183-93, college: Indianapolis) with 20 points and 6 assists and center Liam Gibcus (206-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. Spectres maintains first place in League with 6-0 record. Loser Dandenong Rangers keep the sixth position with two games lost. Spectres will face league's leader Mount Gambier Pioneers in Mt Gambier in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
