A very interesting game took place in Wantirna South. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Waverley Falcons (5-3) to first ranked Knox Raiders (8-1) 67-66 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for center Matt Hodgson (211-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Dylan Hare (193-93) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Guard Jason Reardon (189-83) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Chris Arkell (198-90) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Waverley Falcons. Four Waverley Falcons players scored in double figures. Knox Raiders maintains first place in League with 8-1 record. Waverley Falcons at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Knox Raiders' next round opponent will be Eltham Wildcats (#4) on the road. Waverley Falcons will play against Hume City Broncos in Tullamarine and hope to win that game.
