Steaua CSM upset CSU Sibiu on the road in the opener. CSU Sibiu was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Steaua CSM made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Morris Curry (181-87, college: Providence, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Chris Cooper (205-90, college: ODU) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for CSU Sibiu. Four Steaua CSM and five CSU Sibiu players scored in double figures.
