We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (8-13) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (8-13) 88-81. Caballeros de Culiacan made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) notched 31 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) supported him with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 23 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists by swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette) did not help to save the game for Garra Canera de Navolato.
