Bottom-ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango managed to get the second consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time newly promoted Aguilas Doradas de Durango edged sixth-ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan 106-104. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Paul Jones (198-89, college: W.Washington) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ronnie Battle (185, college: Chattahoochee V.) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Aguilas Doradas de Durango players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Cliff Tucker (198-89, college: Maryland) responded with 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 17-of-22 shooting from the field) and forward Omar Thomas (196-82, college: UTEP) scored 22 points. Newly promoted Aguilas Doradas de Durango maintains tenth position with 6-14 record. Defending champion Lobos UAD Mazatlan dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Los Mochis and Guasave. Aguilas Doradas de Durango will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will play again against Aguilas Doradas de Durango (#10) and hope to secure a win.
