Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Garra Canera de Navolato and 9th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan had identical 8-13 record. This time Garra Canera de Navolato used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Culiacan 90-78 on Wednesday night. Garra Canera de Navolato outrebounded Caballeros de Culiacan 34-18 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) added 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for Caballeros de Culiacan in the defeat. Four Garra Canera de Navolato and five Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Garra Canera de Navolato (9-13) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Los Mochis. Loser Caballeros de Culiacan keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Garra Canera de Navolato will meet league's second-placed Halcones de Ciudad Obregon on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Aguilas Doradas de Durango (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
