Regular Season Round 60: Nagoya DD - Ryukyu GK 69-62

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ryukyu GK (27-31) against fifth ranked Diamond Dolphins (25-33) on Wednesday night. Visiting Ryukyu GK was defeated by Diamond Dolphins in a tough game in Nagoya 62-69. The winners were led by American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) who scored that evening 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by forward Naoki Tashiro (188-93) did not help to save the game for Ryukyu GK. International guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) added 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Dolphins moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Kyoto Hannar. Loser Ryukyu GK keeps the third position with 31 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will meet Kyoto Hannar. (#4) on the road in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play against the league's second-placed Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
