Regular Season Round 60: Hitachi SR - Niigata Albirex 93-85

An interesting game for Hitachi Sunrockers (31-27) which hosted in Tokyo one of their biggest challengers Niigata Albirex (25-33). Third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers managed to get a 8-point victory 93-85. Hitachi Sunrockers outrebounded Niigata Albirex 42-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: Cal Merced) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: Babcock Sports) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Niigata Albirex. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third position with 31-27 record having seventeen points less than leader Tochigi Brex. Loser Niigata Albirex keeps the fourth place with 33 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Niigata Albirex will play at home against Yokohama BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
