Very important is a home loss of third ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (13-8) against fourth ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (12-10) on Wednesday night. Host Tijuana Zonkeys were defeated by Ostioneros de Guaymas in Tijuana 86-68. Ostioneros de Guaymas outrebounded Tijuana Zonkeys 38-22 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) accounted for 12 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Five Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Naturalized American swingman Karim Scott (-88) came up with 23 points and American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for Tijuana Zonkeys in the defeat. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ostioneros de Guaymas maintains fourth place with 12-10 record. Loser Tijuana Zonkeys keep the third position with eight games lost. Ostioneros de Guaymas will meet at home Pioneros Los Mochis (#7) in the next round.
