Very important is a road loss of third ranked Weber Bahia (28-22) against seventh ranked Quimsa (25-28) on Wednesday night. Visiting Weber Bahia was crushed by Quimsa in Santiado Estero 107-86. Weber Bahia was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 57-27 second half run of Quimsa. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for the former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. American center Chris Daniels (205-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Five Quimsa players scored in double figures. Guard Maximo Fjellerup (195-97) replied with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Weber Bahia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimsa moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Obras Basket. Weber Bahia at the other side keeps the third position with 22 games lost. Quimsa's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Ferrocarril in Buenos Aires and it may be quite challenging game. Weber Bahia will play at home against Hispano Am. and hope to win that game.
