No shocking result in a game when first ranked Toshiba Thunders (48-10) crushed on the road 5th ranked Toyama Grouses (17-41) 91-70 on Wednesday. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds. The former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import Drew Viney (204-88, college: Loyola Mary) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Toyama Grouses. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders maintains first position with 48-10 record. Loser Toyama Grouses keep the fifth place with 41 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in Tokyo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Toyama Grouses will play on the road against the league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu and hope to win that game.
