Regular Season Round 8: Perth R. - Rockingham CF 85-74

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Flames (4-5) lost to sixth ranked Redbacks (5-3) in Northbridge 74-85 on Friday. Flames were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Redbacks looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Flames' players. American forward Emilee Harmon (188, college: Ohio St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. Rebecca Benson contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Redbacks players scored in double figures. American forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) replied with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Dena English added 15 points in the effort for Flames. Redbacks moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Flames dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Redbacks will have a break next round. Flames will play against Magic (#3) in Mandurah and hope to win that game.
