Everything went according to plan when second ranked Geelong Supercats (5-3) outleveled at home bottom-ranked Canberra Gunners (0-7) 89-59 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Canberra Gunners' 18. Geelong Supercats forced 19 Canberra Gunners turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Geelong Supercats made 8 blocks. American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) fired 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Nathan Herbert (192-84) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds.
