Date: May 6, 2017
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Sharks (3-4) won against 8th ranked Cougars (3-5) in McKinnon 82-76 on Saturday. Sharks forced 22 Cougars turnovers. American point guard Brittany Carter (183-93, college: Illinois) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Jamilee Pearce contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. American guard Ariel Thomas (168, college: Oregon) replied with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 17 assists and 4 steals and her fellow American import Morgan Pullins (183, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Two Points) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cougars. Sharks moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Cougars dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Sharks will face higher ranked Falcons (#4) in Mount Waverley in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cougars will play at home against Hawks (#3) and hope to win that game.
