Very predictable result when top-ranked Hawks (8-0) rolled over 9th ranked Slammers (3-6) in Bunbury 62-37 on Saturday. Hawks forced 26 Slammers turnovers. International power forward Natalie Burton (194-89, college: W.Virginia) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Emily Burton (186-91) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Brittany Hodges (185-93, college: Furman) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and forward Courtney Bayliss (183-93, college: Our Lady Lake) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Slammers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks maintains first position in League with 8-0 record. Loser Slammers keep the ninth place with six games lost. Hawks will face Eagles (#11) in Morley in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slammers will play at home against Cougars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
