Very important is a road loss of second ranked Ferrocarril (34-21) against ninth ranked Hispano Am. (21-33) on Saturday night. Visiting Ferrocarril was defeated by Hispano Am. in Rio Gallegos 98-80. The game was mostly controlled by Hispano Am.. Ferrocarril was better in fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Hispano Am. players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Power forward Alejandro Zilli (200-82) nailed 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Mariano Fierro (200-86) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds. Hispano Am.'s coach Bernardo Murphy allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Martin Cuello (193-93) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Ferrocarril in the defeat. Five Hispano Am. and four Ferrocarril players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Hispano Am. maintains ninth place with 21-33 record. Ferrocarril at the other side keeps the second position with 21 games lost. Hispano Am.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Weber Bahia (#3) in Bahia Blanca and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
