There was a minor upset when bottom-ranked Tigers (0-2) were outleveled by seventh ranked Sabres (2-3) in Cheltenham 81-59 on Saturday. Sabres made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. American swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import guard Brittany Smart (175-85, college: Cedarville) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Sabres' coach felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. The former international center Elyse Penaluna (193-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Hanna Zavecz (186-85) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Tigers. Sabres moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Tigers still closes the standings with two games lost. Sabres will face league's second-placed Lady Cobras in Kilsyth in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
