B League D2 top team - Gunma (39-20) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Yamagata (26-33) 73-69. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St.) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Yuichi Ishikawa (173-87) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Gunma have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 39-20 record. Yamagata lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 33 games lost. Gunma will face again Yamagata (#5) at home in the next round.
