Regular Season Round 61: Fukushima - Aomori Watts 80-81

The most exciting game of round 61 in the B League D2 took place in Fukushima. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Fukushima (30-29) to fourth ranked Aomori Watts (28-31) 81-80 on Saturday evening. Aomori Watts outrebounded Fukushima 46-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Fukushima helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Kenta Tateyama (188-90) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Aomori Watts' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Aomori Watts have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 28-31 record. Fukushima lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 29 games lost. Aomori Watts will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukushima will play again at home against Aomori Watts and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
