There was a small surprise in Ulverstone where sixth ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (2-6) edged 4th ranked Bendigo Braves (4-6) 81-78 on Saturday. American forward Jeremiah Ingram (201-93, college: N.C.Central) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Daniel Sepokas (190-90, college: Lees-McRae) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward CJ Aiken (206-90, college: St.Joseph's) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the former international power forward Matthew Andronicos (208-91) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bendigo Braves' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. NW Tasmania Thunder maintains sixth position in League with 2-6 record. Loser Bendigo Braves keep the fourth place with six games lost. NW Tasmania Thunder will face Tigers (#6) in Melbourne in the next round. Bendigo Braves will play at home against the league's leader Mount Gambier Pioneers and hope to win that game.
