There was an upset in Terrigal where higher ranked Spiders (6-3) were outplayed by eighth ranked Crusaders (4-5) 92-60 on Saturday. Crusaders forced 26 Spiders turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Spiders' players. American forward Mitchell Rueter (198, college: Cent.Arkansas) fired 30 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Matthew Bateup chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Crusaders' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Noah Cleur produced 25 points and Kulvir Grewal added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Crusaders moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Spiders keep the third position with three games lost. Crusaders will face league's second-placed Maitland Mustangs at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Spiders will play against Sutherland Sharks and hope to win that game.
