Everything went according to plan when first ranked Sydney City Comets (8-1) won against on the road 11th ranked Sutherland Sharks (1-8) 78-68 on Saturday. Sydney City Comets dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sutherland Sharks' 34. Sutherland Sharks were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Louis Brandt fired 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American guard Indiana Faithfull (193-91, college: W.Liberty St.) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Sydney City Comets players scored in double figures. Robert Simonovski produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and Bailey Musulin added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sydney City Comets maintains first position in League with 8-1 record. Loser Sutherland Sharks keep the eleventh place with eight games lost. Sydney City Comets will face Hawks (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sutherland Sharks will play against Spiders in Hornsby and hope to win that game.
