Eighth-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (9-15) gave a tough game to second ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (17-7). Halcones de Ciudad Obregon managed to secure only three-point victory 102-99. However their fans expected much easier game. Puerto Rican point guard Nick Leon (181-88, college: St.Peter's) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 assists for the winning side and American swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) added 30 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Garra Canera de Navolato in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-7 record behind leader Hermosillo. Garra Canera de Navolato at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Caballeros de Culiacan (#6) at home in the next round. Garra Canera de Navolato will play against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
