Regular Season Round 61: Sendai 89ers - Tochigi Brex 69-64

There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Sendai 89ers (14-45) defeated at home leader Tochigi Brex (45-14) 69-64 on Saturday. American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) stepped up and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) responded with 6 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) scored 7 points and 16 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Sendai 89ers maintains sixth place with 14-45 record. Loser Tochigi Brex still keeps top position with 14 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face again league's leader Tochigi Brex at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
