Regular Season Round 10: Hobart C. - Bendigo B. 112-89

No shocking result in a game in Hobart where second ranked Chargers (5-2) smashed 4th ranked Bendigo Braves (4-6) 112-89 on Sunday. Chargers made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Bendigo Braves turnovers. Forward Tom Garlepp (203-86, college: UCSB) fired 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Chris Whitehead (175-92, college: Bellarmine) chipped in 21 points. The former international power forward Matthew Andronicos (208-91) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward CJ Aiken (206-90, college: St.Joseph's) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Bendigo Braves players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chargers maintains second position in League with 5-2 record having five points less than leader Sydney Comets. Loser Bendigo Braves keep the fourth place with six games lost. Chargers will face Canberra Gunners (#7) in Belconnen in the next round where they are favorite. Bendigo Braves will play at home against the league's leader Mount Gambier Pioneers and hope to win that game.
