Rather predictable result in Kalamunda where tenth ranked Slammers (4-4) beat 12th ranked Suns (3-10) 98-80 on Sunday. The game without a history. Slammers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 26 and made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Slammers had a 38-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Suns were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Slammers moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Suns keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Slammers will face higher ranked Cougars (#7) in Hamilton Hill in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Suns will play at home against Wanneroo (#4) and hope to win that game.
