No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Slammers (3-6) crushed 11th ranked Suns (1-8) in Kalamunda 92-68 on Sunday. Slammers forced 19 Suns turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Suns were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Brittany Hodges (185-93, college: Furman) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Courtney Bayliss (183-93, college: Our Lady Lake) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Slammers players scored in double figures. Forward Melissa Moyle (184-87) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Tahlia Fejo added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Suns. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Slammers maintains ninth position in League with 3-6 record. Loser Suns dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Slammers will face Cougars (#10) in Hamilton Hill in the next round. Suns will play at home against Wanneroo and hope to win that game.
