Not a big story in a game in Geelong where 12th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (1-8) were defeated by tenth ranked Stingrays (2-6) 93-83 on Sunday. Diamond Valley Eagles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Cam Baker (185, college: Columbus St.) fired 31 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Michael Rebula (189-90) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Stingrays players scored in double figures. American forward Brandon Conley (198, college: ORU) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and guard Matt Reynolds (183) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stingrays moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Stingrays will face Magic (#10) in Hawthorn in the next round. Diamond Valley Eagles will play at home against Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
