Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Holon (20-11) against sixth ranked Ironi Nahariya (17-14) on Sunday night. Visiting Hapoel Holon was defeated by Ironi Nahariya in Nahariya 78-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Holon. Hapoel Holon was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 41-30 second half run of Ironi Nahariya. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Derwin Kitchen (194-86, college: Florida St.) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Ironi Nahariya's coach Eric Elfasi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Shlomi Harush (185-87) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman James Bell (197-92, college: Villanova) added 17 points respectively for Hapoel Holon in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ironi Nahariya. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hapoel J-M and Bnei Hertzeliyya. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the second position with 11 games lost. Ironi Nahariya will play against Bnei Hasharon (#5) in Hod Hasharon in the next round. Hapoel Holon will play at home against Maccabi Rishon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
