There was a surprise result in Hamilton Hill where thirteenth ranked Giants (3-6) edged higher ranked Cougars (5-6) 99-96 on Sunday. Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Jacob Holmen (202-91, college: N.Texas) fired 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import forward JB Pillard (201, college: Cent.Washington) chipped in 20 points. Giants' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Croatian guard Daniel Thomas (180-85) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. Giants moved-up to eleventh place in League. Loser Cougars dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Giants will face league's leader Tigers in Willetton in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
