No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked CB Canarias (20-10) beat 9th ranked RETAbet BB (14-16) in Tenerife 80-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. CB Canarias led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Canadian-Dutch forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-85, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. American-French forward Tariq Kirksay (199-79, college: Iona, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Belgian-Congolese point guard Jonathan Tabu (189-85) replied with 18 points and 8 assists and Belgian forward Axel Hervelle (205-83) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for RETAbet BB. Five RETAbet BB players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Unicaja. Loser RETAbet BB keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. CB Canarias will face higher ranked FC Barcelona (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. RETAbet BB will play against Baskonia (#4) and hope to win that game.
