Seventh-ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (10-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (18-7) on Tuesday. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon managed to secure only three-point victory 139-136. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caballeros de Culiacan. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon forced 19 Caballeros de Culiacan turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Caballeros de Culiacan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 25 rebounds. Forward Landon Atterberry (198-93, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Aspire Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. Forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) added 28 points and 17 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-7 record behind leader Hermosillo. Caballeros de Culiacan at the other side keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Los Mochis. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon are again looking forward to face Caballeros de Culiacan (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Caballeros de Culiacan will have a break next round.
