Everything went according to plan when second ranked Chalon/Saor (25-7) defeated at home 9th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (16-16) 89-76 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Chalon/Saor. Gravelines-Dunkerque managed to win second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalon/Saor shot 61.5 percent from the field. Chalon/Saor had a 25-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) who scored that evening 24 points and 7 assists and center Moustapha Fall (218-92) supported him with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) did not help to save the game for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Swingman Rudy Jomby (196-88) added 15 points for the guests. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chalon/Saor have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 25-7 record having just three points less than leader Monaco. Loser Gravelines-Dunkerque keeps the ninth place with 16 games lost. Chalon/Saor will meet Paris-Levallois (#6) on the road in the next round. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Cholet Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
