Regular Season Round 27: Obregon - Culiacan 96-111

The game between second ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (18-8) and seventh ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (11-15) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon was defeated by Caballeros de Culiacan in Ciudad Obregon 111-96. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Caballeros de Culiacan shot 60.8 percent from the field. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds. American center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Landon Atterberry (198-93, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Aspire Sports) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Caballeros de Culiacan and four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caballeros de Culiacan maintains seventh place with 11-15 record. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan are looking forward to face higher ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Aguilas Doradas de Durango (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
