LigaA top team - San Lorenzo (39-16) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Obras Basket (25-30) in Buenos Aires 81-65. It looked good early as Obras Basket took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then San Lorenzo had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Obras Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-81. San Lorenzo made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game. San Lorenzo outrebounded Obras Basket 40-28 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Obras Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international forward Gabriel Deck (199-95) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. American center Jerome Meyinsse (207-88, college: Virginia) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Tomas Zanzottera (192-93) produced 19 points and American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles) added 3 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. San Lorenzo have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 39-16 record. Obras Basket lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 30 games lost. San Lorenzo's next round opponent will be Boca Juniors (#10) in Buenos Aires and are hoping to win another game.
