Wels rallied past Oberwart on the road in the opener. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 26-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Raiffeisen Wels outrebounded Redwell Gunners Oberwart 42-27 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard DeJuan Wright (190-88, college: FIU) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Chris McNealy (194-92, college: Cal-Irvine) answered with 19 points and the other American import point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
